Often, couples and singles come to me for guidance and clarity because they are worried. They are worried their relationship isn’t where it should be. They are worried if he/she chose the right wife/husband. They are worried they will never find the love, period. Folks are just plain worried!

I recently read a passage from Our Daily Bread that addressed the issue of worriers. They gave 3 tips and I will add an extra one just to feel like I am making a contribution to the blog..

  1. Start a worry list. – Write down what you are worried about. Your marriage! Your lack of a relationship! Your boyfriend/girlfriend! Your future!
  2. What is the source of your worries? Often, there are things in your past that you can no longer do anything about, but you remain in that place and it affects how you see your present and future.
  3. Turn your worry list into a prayer list. Once you have clarity on the source of your worries, you can ask God to specifically work out the situations you are worried about. If you aren’t a believer, but you consider yourself spiritual, meditate on the things that you desire to come into your heart and life.
  4. Turn your prayer list into an action list. If you have thoughts on what you can do to act on the things you are worried about, do it. For example, if you are worried about a relationship, what do you have to do internally/externally to put yourself into position to receive a relationship?
