What is Marry Your Baby Daddy Day?
The 3rd Annual Marry Your Baby Daddy Day™ is an all-expenses paid wedding to take place in NYC on
September 24, 2009. It is valued at over $100K of goods and services that includes wedding attire, limos,
cakes, invitations, venue, premarital counseling, etc. The works! Celebrity dress and cake designers,
wedding planners and more have come on board to make 2009 the best. We never ask our MYBDD™
couples for money. However, there may be costs related to dress alterations by the bridal store based on
your size (so don’t eat a lot before the wedding!). See photos from 2007 wedding here.
I live outside the NYC Tri State area, can I still apply for the next wedding in '09?
Yes! This includes northern NJ applicants. However, if you live outside these areas, you will not be
married in NYC, but may be able to get married with one of our licensed MYBDD™ partners in your city. We
will keep your information on file, and if we have a wedding in your area, you will be contacted. If not, we will
keep your application until we do and contact you.
Is MYBDD™ funded or affiliated with any religious, ethnic or political group?
No. We are not affiliated with any of the above and are open to ALL.
My partner and I are in love, but we do not live together. Can we apply?
Because of the high number of applicants, we only consider couples who are currently living together for
marriage. If you are not living together for religious reasons, please let us know. There are some
exceptions.
Can you bring me and my partner back together?
We do not marry couples who are not already together.
Do I have to be in a relationship to apply? What are the requirements?
Yes, a loving, cooperative relationship. Many of our couples have been engaged for quite some time, others
are ready to get married. The requirements to fill out an application to get started are: you must be living
together, and share at least 1 biological child.
Why is it called Marry Your Baby Daddy Day™?
We want to address the women in the relationship and show them that they alone are responsible for
changing their relationship circumstances, not a boyfriend, friend, or parent. This very issue of self-
empowerment was addressed by Maryann Reid in her novel Marry Your Baby Daddy published by St.
Martins Press. We highly recommend you read the book. Women must empower themselves to expect
better for their family. We all know men are usually the ones who ask, but is the woman who makes the
final DECISION to say YES or NO.

No, couples must apply directly.

What is the mission of MYBDD™?
Our mission is to strengthen 2-parent homes through marriage, bring attention to the high almost 70% out
of wedlock rate and the overwhelming rise of fatherless households in urban communities. Couples who
marry with us are ready to take their relationship to the next level. Many of our couples want to take an active
role in improving their communities and be role models. Studies show that communities with higher
numbers of married households are more stable and have less crime.
